EKI performs all of the electrical maintenance, expansion, and service for all three properties- KHOU studios and both transmitter sites. Completed upgrades for all of the electrical systems, including switchgear, ATS, generators, digital transmitters, and transmission wiring.
Each year EKI builds temporary cities for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The project brings power to the exhibitors, contestants, transportation, carnival, and carnival employees. We support and monitor the event with 24 hour support for the entire rodeo. Additionally, we provide service and maintenance to the property year round. Finally, we design the power systems that enable the rodeo to grow each year. Our expertise helps them improve and expand the show with reliable power systems and significant cost savings.
COCC is a Level 2 Data Center located in Avon, CT. In 2019 COCC upgraded their 40 year old service transmission, switchgear, and emergency generation systems in their building. No other company was able to perform this work without shutting down the power for an estimated 3 days and projected completion date of three months. EKI completed the project in 3 weeks with no power outages saving the company millions in lost processing time for their customers, and more than 30% in project costs.
In 2017 we redesigned the electrical installation for the new Moody Center at Rice University. The complexity of the architecture created huge challenges for the engineers. The original plans lacked ceiling space for the installation of HVAC, Fire Sprinklers, Plumbing and Electrical. Our re-design enabled the build to proceed and reduced the cost of the entire electrical build by 30%.
